Final Fridays Art Market Goes Digital Application

The City of Waterloo is inviting emerging and established artists to participate in a series of curated digital art markets. This vendor opportunity will take place on Fridays and will be hosted and distributed on our Create Waterloo social media channels. This online market will take the place of our Final Fridays Art Market as we work through the COVID 19 isolation period.

There are 10 - 15 spots open at each of the market events. Artists will be selected based on their artistic merit, ability to deliver online sales, and quality of work. This opportunity is open to emerging and established artists working in any discipline. Applicants should carefully consider their availability and ability to deliver products to potential consumers.

Final Fridays Art Market will take place with this format on the following dates:

July 31, 2020

August 28, 2020

Selected exhibitors will be responsible for maintaining a web presence, managing all sales and deliveries, and for communicating directly with customers and patrons. All communications with patrons are the responsibility of artists.

As with every event, sharing boosts the success of the event. Please help us get the word out by letting your own audience know about the event.

The City of Waterloo will provide a social media sharing kit including logos, text, and the link to the online digital marketplace. The digital market place will be shared on our social media and will be posted on the City of Waterloo website. The Art Market will be assembled into an image that resembles Waterloo Public Square. Each selected vendor will be given a “tent” with links to the websites that have been provided. We will work to keep vendors informed and to rotate vendors throughout the program.

Under normal circumstances, the Final Fridays Art Market would take place in Waterloo Public Square on the final Friday of each month. The goal of our digital Art Market is to connect artists to local audiences while also celebrating in the spirit of our established event. This digital Art Market will be treated as an alternative measure and will be discontinued once regular programming resumes.

Applicants are required to submit an application form which includes basic information, a bio/artist statement, and links to digital presence (ie. social media, website, Etsy). Applications will be reviewed and selected based on the quality of the art as it is presented in the links provide. See application form below for details.
