July 1 Community Picnic - Community Organizations

The City of Waterloo is inviting local community organizations to submit an Expression of Interest to participate in the July 1 Community Picnic.

The event will take place from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on the west side of Waterloo Park. This free, family-friendly celebration will feature live local music, giant outdoor games, food trucks, interactive booths, and a 100-drone light show to close out the evening.

Community members will be invited to spend the afternoon enjoying activities in the park with family, friends and neighbours.

Who should apply

We are currently looking for community organizations located within the Region of Waterloo, specifically local non-profits and arts organizations that are interested in hosting their own event booth.

Participating groups may:

  • Share information about their organization
  • Offer interactive activities for attendees
  • Engage with community members throughout the event

Please note that while it is not mandatory, preference will be given to organizations that provide an engaging activity for attendees.

There is no fee to participate. We ask that any activities or offerings do not charge members of the public.

Application process

Applications will be reviewed within 2 to 4 weeks of submission. The application will remain open until April 23, 2026; however, submissions will be reviewed on an ongoing basis, and organizations are encouraged to apply early.

While we appreciate the interest of all applicants, only selected organizations will be contacted by June 2026.
