Apply for a tax appeal

Use this form to apply for a review and adjustment of your property taxes.

Section 357 - application for current year
Applications must be received by the City of Waterloo on or before the last day of February in the year after the year you are applying for.

Section 358 - application for previous years (full year only)
Applications must be received by the City of Waterloo on or before December 31st of the current year. Your application can include either or both of the two years right before the current year.

What you need before you start

Have these details ready to complete the form:

  • your property tax roll number
  • the property's address
  • your name, contact information and mailing address
  • the names of all property owners

If a company or corporation owns the property, you'll also need:

  • a copy of your Articles of Incorporation or Property Management Agreement

Step 1: Property information

Add the property’s tax roll number and physical location. The tax roll number can be found in the top right-hand corner of your property tax bill. Do not include any spaces or decimal points between the numbers.
